My name is Ezgi Cengiz. I am an assistant professor in the Department of Agricultural and Resource Economics at North Carolina State University. My current research focuses on exploring the causal impacts of public policies in food and beverages industries.

I love cooking Mediterranean food, traveling to new cities, and listening to ’70s progressive rock.

  • Applying data tidying techniques to very big data sets collected from well-recognized global marketing research companies including Nielsen (barcode level sales and price data for the near universe of consumer packaged good industries), Gladson (barcode level nutrition data), and Kantar Media (brand level advertising spending data)
  • Analysing big data sets (> 1 bn observations), performing feature engineering, and building regression and machine learning models using Stata & R & Matlab
  • Leading and supervising graduate & undergraduate researchers over the years for successful completion of tasks
  • Writing grant proposals, documenting research, and visualizing findings
